I do not know the original, I chose it because there was a lot of hype around the fragrance and I was curious about it. It was my 2nd favourite of the 8 fragrances I chose. This is a roughed up vanilla. It opens with the black pepper note and settles into a refined, sexy, almost subtle vanilla. But even at the base, the vanilla is edgier due to its pairing with suede and cedar. This is a sophisticated vanilla fragrance. Shipping was very fast. I will definitely be a returning customer :)

The leather note in this is strong providing that burned rubber smell. However, it goes away as it dries down somewhat.
